They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a “weapon”—HIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.

After 45 minutes of shoveling through compacted snow, I’d created a pass. Just enough that able-bodied people could walk through it.

Got home from a work trip to find that the snow plows had created a 4 1/2‘ wall of snow across the sidewalk by my apartment.

@govdanmckee.bsky.social 's plan to cut prices by gutting the programs that reduce our dependence on gas is economically illiterate, but that's the point. He's hoping to can get an election year win by foisting our utility's plan on a public that may not know better.

The more dependent we are on gas, the more we are on the roller coaster and at the mercy of some vicious supply-demand dynamics. /3

Some simple math. Per Rhode Island Energy's own numbers

The "supply" portion of your winter bill (wholesale power, driven by gas prices) = 44%
All renewable energy programs together = 13%
The renewable energy standard = 3.5% (part of that 13%).
