guess i just need to fanfic harder

the most frustrating part of my journey as a fic writer was the period when i was a strong enough writer that i could see a skill gap between my fics and the fics i loved most, but i couldn't figure out how to bridge that gap.

so here's a thread of tips that would have helped me SO much back then.
