I’ve been feeling the same about my art. I have no motivation to create and I’m not happy with anything I do make. We aren’t meant to live like this: cogs in the machine of capitalism being ground into dust while fascism is on the rise.

I hate the whole “no politics” rules in so many servers. Like my city is currently be militarized by the federal government and we’re supposed to not say anything about it? Avert our eyes as federal troops are authorized to use “full force” on peaceful protesters???

I don’t blame Bella Ramsey for not going to the Emmy’s. As an autistic person they sound like a nightmare. They said they struggle with press so award shows would probably be even worse. Hours of hair and wardrobe, the events themselves, networking, and interviews would be a sensory nightmare.

I just found out Erin Doherty who won for Adolescence is also queer and even kissed her partner after winning. She was amazing in Adolescence and definitely deserved to win.

If you haven’t seen Somebody, Somewhere—please go watch it! It’s such a sweet, tender show that feels like drinking a hot cup of tea. It’s a show about middle aged, plus size, and queer characters finding community and friendship in each other in Kansas. I really wish it had gotten a season four.

The best part of the Emmy’s was how The White Lotus was basically ignored. Also so many openly queer actors won: Tramell Tillman, Jeff Hiller, and Hannah Einbinder!

I would love to see more furry apparel that caters to fems. Give me dresses and skirts and pinks and pastels! And with more feminine characters too!

I definitely have slacked off with my mask wearing but I need to do better! Spaces aren’t truly accessible for disabled folks without requiring face masks.

Since the Trump administration is purposely limiting access to COVID vaccines, remember to MASK UP, especially in crowded and high-risk spaces. It’s the best way to protect yourself and others. I want to emphasize this especially for con-goers, particularly in high volume areas like the Artist Alley

It kind of hit me yesterday that most of the stuff Trump is cutting is never coming back or will take a very long time to come back. Like it took decades of advocacy and protests to get diversity and inclusion initiatives in organizations in place. Like how we are still seeing the impacts of Reagan.

It’s a bummer this show never got the fandom or love that similar shows did when it released. There’s also an amazing soundtrack and even a K-Pop band.

If you liked K-Pop Demon Hunters, I HIGHLY recommend you check out Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts on Netflix. It’s made by the same creators, all the main cast are BIPOC and there’s queer rep, the creature design is top tier, and it’s only three seasons and tells a great, succinct story.
