Hello stranger! Thank you for the input. Another friend also suggested I look into Godox.

16.02.2026 20:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My 283 but quiet is essentially the goal.
16.02.2026 19:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My 283 rules. It's just loud as hell when it's charging and that's a problem when shooting quiet music performances. Like it is disturbing to the performers loud. And yeah I think modern stuff is all radio. What I want is so simple and cheap I'm sure nobody makes it.
16.02.2026 19:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I like 24hr time but I refuse to believe 17:00 is a thing that happens once a day.

16.02.2026 18:30 β π 99 π 61 π¬ 1 π 5I assume I'll never probably never see a doctor again except in dire circumstances. I don't have insurance and I can't afford to go into years long debt again. You know, the average American healthcare experience.

16.02.2026 18:00 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I ofc wouldn't block Tina Weymouth but I feel like she's too old to be interesting on social media, even if she's a god on the bass.
16.02.2026 17:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've blocked most of the talking heads on here. Even those I might agree with because I just can't see that stuff all the time.

16.02.2026 17:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Preferably a modern flash with good battery life. But lol at asking technical questions that do not appear on spec sheets.

16.02.2026 17:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any suggestions for a quiet flash for an old 35mm camera that works with a sync cable not a hot shoe? I love the Vivitar I have but the sound of the capacitor charging is audible from more than 50 feet away which is a problem when trying to shoot quiet music performances.
16.02.2026 17:22 β π 5 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0That I would watch. Anything short of that? No fucking way.
16.02.2026 17:14 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The pit for the opera wasn't tall enough for me to have my bass at the right height so my arm got all jacked up. Good times. Lame ass opera though.
16.02.2026 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dang that sucks! I got tendonitis in my left arm in my first semester in music school and it's been a little fucked ever since. Nobody seemed to think physical therapy was important and I didn't know enough then to ask lol.
16.02.2026 17:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0beyond solidarity, hard to describe the loss of this craft. conn selmer has been an evil company infamously ahead of the times monopolizing an industry then outscoring/enshitffying it, broke the UAW over a three year strike ending in 2009 www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna32287...)

16.02.2026 16:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wish I had the poignant, sad, yet resolute statements I've seen from the Conn Selmer workers about their love for creating brass instruments, literal extensions of our human creative minds, from metal.
Down with the hedge fund losers who give the middle finger to workers and human endeavors!

David Dominique - penny whistle, trombone, flugelbone
David Menestres - double bass
I only have two gripes: 1) the audience clapping is mixed too loud (a standard complaint of mine lol), and 2) both versions of Birdsong are just very nice melodies with no soloing and this bugs me because it's a melody worthy of solos, and one I was playing often in solo sets a few years back.
