Yes, it is. Unless you know Excel/Sheets formulas really well. Then it's remarkably easy to write, then copy and paste into your code as needed with minimal changes.

The key in all this though is knowing player transparency. Useful!

So what happens here is the half-size letters "A" (left half) and "p" (right half) get drawn to the same tile.

This technique in utilizing player transparency is SO important in Pulp development. Learn it. Apply it in many cases. It levels your game up!

Next, you'll want a variable flag in the player's draw event in PulpScript (relicDetails), where you'll call an event with a variable attached, I just pass a number through. In this case, I call the event relicDesc0.

This event draws every letter, and the half-size + transparency allows overlap!

First, make tiles in the player tile section so you can use its transparency, two for each lower and upper-case letter, one for the left half of the tile and one for the right half. You'll see that in the bottom part of my tile section here (the other letters are for crank-controlled scrolling!)

Sometimes, you need both half-size *and* full-size fonts in Pulp for @play.date, which restricts you to one or the other. In this case, I want to squeeze some descriptions for collectible "relics" into a small text box in the in-game menu of Lightbearer.
