I was also wondering about regional trends but those were not available in Geoff’s site. This stagnation definitely deserves a formal and rigorous study 🙂

My hypothesis: network consolidation 🤔. Content is increasingly distributed by large clouds ☁️📡, while access becomes concentrated among a few players as profit margins drop 📉 and technical complexity rises ⚙️. Need empirical evidence – thoughts? 🤷‍♂️🔍

In line with my previous post 📌, this initiative requires a government to maintain a fully detailed inventory of their IP prefix stock 🌐. The US Fed Gov likely has one, but I’m not so sure if other countries can easily follow these steps 🤔
