"Higo Chumbo: Moonphase Dance" is meant to portray the delicate and beautiful nature of Puerto Rican flora & fauna. Cosmicloak's family originates from the island and wants to visualize the importance of bats for the growth of produce/flora on the island. The Higo Chumbo (Harrisia portoricensis) is a threatened species of night blooming cactus native to Puerto Rico. It is pollinated by bats and various other night pollinators. The "Moonphase Dance" references how clusters of Higo Chumbo look like swinging arms and legs, akin to dancers under the moon's influence. -Mediums: paint marker, copic marker, gold metallic paint, white gel pen
