the youtube vs yt-dlp arms race is hilarious, because of how lopsided it is.

on the one hand, you've got a company with the GDP of Denmark who has about a manhattan-project's worth of developers they can assign to this.

but on the other end, you've got every bored or annoyed javascript hacker.

if you wanna make video games as a career you have to enjoy the process of making video games. its not enough to just enjoy the end result. same goes for most types of creative works

@everyone. Discord is trying to sneak in unannounced privacy changes again. A new beta feature called "Shrimp Link" allows shrimps to psionically connect and read your thoughts You have to dig up the new setting and manually opt-out. Go into your User Settings, and uncheck the option under Shrimp Link to opt out. No one was sent a message stating this was happening

New Title Graphic for the Create mod. The Create title is flanked by cogwheels, with a cardboard textured subtitle reading "Post Production". A label is sandwiched between them reading "Update 6"

My advice has always been: Make a game you would to play yourself.
That way if your game is a commercial flop, at least you made something cool.

Also, if you want to play that thing, you can bet there's at least a dozen people out there that would want to play that too
