Aye, the 'hot take' 'a source says' journalism has really got to go. It's tedious, agenda-led, and means nothing to the vast majority of us and our lives.

Yeah, they showed you can be ambitious, gamechanging without it. That lesson was lost in the 70s!! π
Grandiosity has its place, though. It just wisnae the Beatles ' style.

If You Go Away
Fucking hell, Scott 3. I think this might be my favourite album of all time. It also takes me back to a very specific place in Streatham, when I was 21, that I have never been to since. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhz8...

The cover for The Inn at the Foot of Mount Vengeance by Chiara Bullen. The tagline reads: "Behind every hero, there's a historian." The cover is framed by icons; two open books at the bottom, green quills and thistle leaves above. Two golden daggers frame the title, and thorns lead up to two dragon heads. Above the title there is the image of a mountain and a small dragon. Below the title, there is an image of the white inn, a stag behind it and a path leading to the front door. The colour palette is mostly light gold, a teal green and black.
The book cover is placed on top of an image of a snowy Buachaille Etive Mor and the Lagangarbh Hut, a white stone bothy, sits beneath it. Text reads: Now Available on NetGalley UK
UK reviewers: The Inn at the Foot of Mount Vengeance is now on NetGalley UK!
My debut fantasy novel featuring a historian desperate to document a hero β even if he has to push them up a dragon-infested mountain himself...

Remembering George Harrison on his birthday.
"Don't Ever Change" is a 1961 song by Goffin and King. It was a rare harmony duet between @GeorgeHarrison and @PaulMcCartney.
@thebeatles performed the song on BBC's radio show "Pop Go the Beatles". It was released August 1, 1963.

Born this day in 1943, George Harrison, guitarist, songwriter, singer, Beatle, light.
George wrote what may be my all-time favorite Beatles song. I think it's just an incredible two-plus minutes of euphoria, which I invite you to share now. β€οΈ

Drama, intrigue and a plot to blow up St Paulβs Cathedral
James Meekβs Your Life Without Me is filled with tension, strong opinions β and a brilliantly British death scene
I loved James Meek's new novel, with its ticklish plot, marvellous intensity, and strong opinions (from coffee culture serving "toddler appetites" to our shitty built environment).
My review of Your Life Without Me, a novel which could conceivably please most of the people most of the time:
