Is that kosher? Is there a better approach?
Specifically, let D be binary treatment. We estimate preferences over binary options Y_1 and Y_2 with attributes (X_1,Z_1) and (X_2,Z_2) as follows:
P(Y_1>Y_2)=Beta_1*(X_1-X_2)+Beta_2*D*(X_1-X_2)+Beta_3*(Z_1-Z_2)
We are interested in Beta_1/Beta_3 and Beta_2/Beta_3
Has anyone computed Lee Bounds (or other selective attrition bounds) in a binary choice experiment/conjoint as part of an RCT?

It seems like most firms haven't adjusted pricing yet in response to impending tariffs (e.g. I think apple prices are the same).
That seems odd. Price of replacing inventory is about to shoot up. Theories? Firms are worried about backlash if they do it before they "have" to?
Ha! Thanks. Yea, I've been trying to mostly stay off of socials. We'll see if that holds long term or not.

I donβt know who needs to hear this, but you do not have an obligation to spend today scrolling and reading about what went wrong. It wonβt change the results, and I bet you wonβt find real answers.
Sometimes the best response to bad things is to think about other good things.
Going to bed trying to remind myself that even though bad things out of our control happen, our job is to keep finding a way through and make good things happen where we can

21.09.2024 17:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd bet the main factor is how you react to amazing opportunities that have massive uncertainty.
If you are someone who can relax and say βwow this is amazing!β youβll feel great.
If youβre someone whose first instinct is to worry about losing the chance, not so much.
At least in my experience, the first order mental health issue in a PhD is not really about finding the task hard or unpleasant.
I loved the task.
Thatβs exactly what made the PhD hard. Constant fear that it was about to be ripped away because I wasnβt good enough.
Policymakers can support sustainable development by providing subsidies or financing for energy efficient technologies among low-income households. The Jikokoa cookstove costs $40 but saves $120 per year in fuel savings, generating a large return on investment. 3.5 tons is the potential amount of CO2e the stove reduces each year from the production, transport, and burning of charcoal.
Can cookstove subsidies reduce CO2 emissions?
@joshtdean.bsky.social and I wrote an overview of our research demonstrating that @BurnMfg's Jikokoa/EOCA Char stoves cut 3.5 tons of CO2 - and save $120 in fuel - per household per year.
