But Matt, last year the Orioles were in the thick of a pennant race & acquired a pitcher who hurt their chances to win instead of improving the team. His resurgence this year has been a ray of sunshine but if the goal of the Orioles in 2024 was to win the World Series it was a bad use of prospects.

Sure but at the time the Orioles needed a guy who could start a playoff game in 2024 not a starter who could be fixed in a year, never-mind one of the guys Baltimore sent to Miami has a 949 OPS

Just sayin' . . .

One year ago, the Orioles traded for Trevor Rogers and were maligned for it.

This July, Rogers allowed a .392 opponent OPS for the month, the best in baseball among qualified pitchers.
