I'll try not tread on @dieworkwear.bsky.social's domain here, but I'm fascinated by the word "bespoke".

It literally just means: "to have discussed beforehand." As in, "we spoke before about this item I wish to purchase, and now I'm here to collect it."

Greater Dublin too. North of the Dargle build now trying to get a re-design approved by Wicklow+ DLCC to double height of apts yet iiuc somehow manage to reduce # of homes for more luxury sales. I don't understand how they can so significantly change approved planning for an in-progress build.

I think about this dilemma (shoot the messenger, praise the source) a lot. Part of me suspects some truly believe Kirk is a martyr for peaceful debate, others know he isn't but see an opportunity to Dear Leader themselves into U$D profits, and many outside the US dont care or know what's at stake 2/

Other than being packed like sardines in the tram a few stops near a mall, getting from the city to the airport from the uni district was remarkably pleasant. Frequent, quiet trams for €1.80 (hotel, food, drink similar € to Dublin, but better quality). These are political, policy choices.

Florence for a week, made me qustion what makes a world-class city. Meeting the needs of locals & visitors. Florence has trams that serve the needs of the people using the city & airport/main train station infrastructure. Now thinking about density of this city & Greater Dublin being similar.

Without parallel plans for more dedicated bus lanes, more trams and trains to accommodate more passengers, the Dublin airport risks becoming the biggest source of road traffic gridlock.

They're talking about increasing Dublin airport traffic from 30 to 60 mil passengers. Today I'm having a hangover from trying to get to the airport & home this last week: leaving at 7 am by DART and bus to almost miss an 11 am flight & then flagging a taxi while waiting for a Sunday night ghost bus.
