Looking for a Valentine for that special someone? We made you a few to choose from. We can’t tell you who to love, but we think these are all green flags.

Re: Why covid-19 is β€œa vascular disease masquerading as a respiratory one”

It is time that the medical profession recognised this emerging paradigm shift and moved on from the surrender narrative to a broader perspective that includes the control of such airborne diseases."

* The unspoken assumption that infection is inevitable; the surrender narrative
(No - mitigation of airborne transmission is wholly possible)

Excellent response to the BMJ article 'Why covid-19 is β€œa vascular disease masquerading as a respiratory one”'!

Highlights two fundamental misconceptions:
* Vaccination is the best prevention
(No - avoiding infection is)

Let this be the culture we foster for our future.

A world founded on compassion, care, joy, and where everyone matters. Including our next generation.

We didn’t need foresight. We just needed to recall our existing knowledge.

It was all there in black and white.

It is astounding how works like this could be written - how humans could have this much prescience and predictions of our behaviours - yet the parallels weren’t able to be drawn when 2020 kicked off.

Hyper-focus on illogical theories (Elizabeth vs immunity debt).

The disabled falling by the wayside (Frank vs Fauci).

Counting the years starting from zero (we’re in year 7 now).

Misguided actions during the initial emergency phase (riots outside hospitals vs buying all the loo rolls).

Denial until it was too late (cities evacuated too late vs Freedom Day and countless repeat infections until chronically ill or dead).

🧡 I’ve just read Station Eleven. Considering when it was written the parallels with our current pandemic are eerie.

The reactions towards those rapidly realising the severity of the situation and taking the correct actions (stockpiling food and water vs 😷).

Doing some DIY and spotted this at the paint store.

So…if the air is full of bad stuff let’s just add some more stuff to cover up that the bad stuff is still there? πŸ€”

I think I generally prefer my HEPAs.

Someone I’ve known for many years, and who deeply respected my covid knowledge, recently assumed I don’t fly.

Despite them being aware of many flights I’ve taken since the pandemic started. Despite them knowing that my fit tested mask protect.

I asked why they thought so…

Why the WHO respirator revolt could reshape global health governance - Business Upturn Trade & Policy When a group of senior clinicians and public health scientists formally urged the World Health Organization in January 2026 to...

β€œIf surgical masks remain the default in hospitals while airborne pathogens circulate[…],courts will eventually ask a simple question.

Why was safer protection available, yet not required?

In law, that question rarely ends comfortably for those who ignored it”

For them to consider this sequence of events would ultimately lead to them realising that they take risks they actually do not accept.

Shutting us out therefore becomes the only option to successfully ignore their internal inconsistencies.

16.01.2026 10:48 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

And this is where cognitive dissonance comes in, and where some people choose to - wholly without providing any logical arguments - simply refuse to test for us.
7/

16.01.2026 10:47 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But without testing them this hypothetically covid positive person would attend wholly unmitigated. And this is in effect what everyone else at the event will be doing.

By mentioning the possibility of a positive test I would have brought this principle to their awareness.

16.01.2026 10:47 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Knowing their partial mitigations against covid, they probably would have wanted to do some of the above - but most of all they would have felt enormously uncomfortable being faced with this situation.
5/

16.01.2026 10:46 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Exclude them from the event? Ask them to mask? But what about the dinner? Or wear masks themselves when around this person? Ask them not to be around their child?
4/

16.01.2026 10:46 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But what I didn’t bring up is the Pandora’s box testing these select people could potentially open.

What would the host have done if one of them tests positive?
3/

16.01.2026 10:45 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I politely declined with the reasoning that it’s not practically feasible due to the time of running the test and other event plans.

Complexities of having partial cognitive dissonance around covid 🧡

Someone who is covid aware but chooses to only take occasional mitigations invited me to an event that includes a dinner, and suggested that the people I’m sat next to do a pluslife test.

My thoughts on wider masking… 🧡

Many, including those who are covid-aware, are of the opinion that we’ll never be able to get masking to become widely adopted in society. Perhaps unsurprisingly, some of us who invariably mask in shared air tend to hold a different view. 1/21

If COVID resulted in everyone getting harmless, untreatable, utterly gross pustules covering their entire face for weeks we wouldn't still be in a pandemic.

1. I've said exactly this for quite some time. Expanding on Adrian's @sillyputty78.bsky.social point on X / Twitter here, Covid-19 has three distinct characteristics as a disease that enables it to be denied at a societal level.
