Whatβs your interest level in a book on what itβs really like to emigrate from πΊπΈ (as I did 7 years ago after 15 years of travel and looking into the options)?

Hi Matt, πΊπΈ => π¦πΊ expat here, watch every ep. Know how much work goes in. Massive respect. My Qs:
β Is there one historical case where outside decapitation => democracy? Think not
β Estimates of Iranian missile stockpiles and ability to sustain
βΒ Any historic π¦πΊ involvement (w UK/US 1953 etc)
Thx!
I asked an AI what it thinks of current AI expenditures:
"Claude, how long can the AI bubble last, realistically?"
I've edited for clarity. These were the main points, his words.
The full reply included sources, a timeline, and a projection that the big players will survive. Try it yourself.
Claude AI is an idiot
I asked Claude.ai for its Super Bowl thoughts. The answer is spectacularly, repeatedly stupid.
Sure, AI is totally worth $7 trillion by 2030 and enormous environmental cost. Sure.

Incredible to see two such potentially similar countries, the two countries where I have citizenship, diverge so profoundly.
One day in Australia. One day in the US.

When Trump won in 2024, I put the over/under on the shooting of innocent civilian protesters at July 4, 2025. (I was in a darkly ironic mood obv.)
Clearly I was alarmist. It took a little longer than that.

Last week's news, but new on my Substack, don't judge me: How immigrants were *absolutely essential* to the moon landing, the development of the atom, etc

I don't want to sound like Madonna after 6 mos in π¬π§, but after 15 years of visiting + 7 years living here, I feel much more π¦πΊ than even I'd have thought. Was in πΊπΈ for much of 2024 and so much now feels foreign. As it now does to many Americans as well, sadly
Satire can often be viewed as a reductio ad absurdum proof, dramatised. ("If X is true, then Y and Z etc must logically follow, and Z is obviously absurd, so X is false.")
Humankind seems to learn best unfortunately by acting out its reductio ad absurdum proofs over decades
Also Australia: Scott Boland already has just as many fours as Head's first innings opening partner did

I've started a Substack of short essays on what it's actually like to leave πΊπΈ and live elsewhere (in my case π¦πΊ). What would you most want to know?

OMG Charlotte Walker turned 21 on election day. When we spoke at the local booth here, she was far enough down the Labor ticket that she honestly thought she had zero chance of winning. But as votes add up, she's currently on track to become the youngest senator in Aussie history

Well. Happy to be permanently down under now. Sad all the time about the US but who with half a brain heart and soul is not... watched Canada with joy as well. Hope you're good!
Btw I might seek your advice on a publishing thing later this year. Will email or DM as it shapes
Glad you're here!
Yesterday was kinda wonderful here. And sad, bc Americans should have it just as good
The guy who lost tried to run a US-style campaign, a consciously Trumpian hodgepodge of criticism, character attacks, and culture war crap without offering specific solutions
He lost in an historic landslide

#AntonyGreenStandingOvation or similar really should trend on all media. This legend deserves it
