This is Cocoa, who is a small Jindo. Shiba Inu are the smallest, Jindo next then Akita … all same family of dog. It took Cocoa 2 years to feel comfortable with me, and he still lays just a millimeter away from me … and I know he loves and trusts me.

Shibas are the dog version of a cat. They love on their terms only, but sitting companionably with you is a love language. Change your expectations - and you’ll be happier :). This is Jupiter -

Who had been returned to a rescue for decompression and assessment. So 2 paying clients and 1 I-have-a-good-life-so-I-give-back guest. The dogs are 1 full size labradoodle, 1 mini Aussie doodle, 1 brown mouth cur and 1 Aussie. I always have a full house. I’m lucky that way.

Yes. Most referrals come from other trainers or existing clients, so they have know what I offer and what makes me special (I do supervised dog boarding, and light training, mostly dog-dog interactions). Of the 3 calls, I booked … hm … 1 family with 2 dogs, 1 young puppy and agreed to take a dog

Talking to potential clients, letting dogs in and out, poop scooping … and then tonight I’m going to Rent for the second time this month, because … no day but today …

And he looked at me and said “hey … look at them …” and we laughed together, kindly … and I said “dude. Really?” And we walked together back to his kennel. That was the start of a beautiful friendship. He’s gone now, but … he’s still with me.
