Barmbrack was pretty good! Sweet and salty.

I had a weird thought about multi-threading and locks.

What if ... I didn't use locks and just let the threads race?

It would just be running a simulation on a 2D grid, essentially just "blurring" float values over time... It wouldn't really matter much if it wasn't "deterministic" or not.

I've been working on this one project and I'm just about drained all my fucks to give. Even though people have responded positively, I just can't feel any sense of accomplishment.
So that's where I'm at. Difficult to focus on much else.

Kenny gifted me the game Baby Steps, and I completely lost track of time for the first four hours 😅
The gameplay loop is almost meditative

Every time I got a fresh windows pc, there was this “ugh, I gotta set things up again”

Next time, with Linux, I fear it’s more like “oh fuck, I need to summon the demons again”

So, I've been chipping away at Silksong, and it's growing on me. It's got this loop where every new encounter is just absolute mayhem until you figure out their pattern and what moveset they were designed to encourage.

I’m binge watching Star Trek next generation with a sense of melancholy. Like, all this optimism, gone. 😅

So, "Cult of the Lamb" is on sale, but I wonder if I'd be happy with the base version, or should I get the addons as well...

Also watched “Trapped” from one “I see dead people” director and, honestly, I thought it was a step up from the director! Four out of five!

The air strike/pogo is fun, but climbing the red blossoms above a spike pit and below a flying enemy is pure evil

I’m taking Silksong next, see how far I can get. Pretty early still. Butted heads with the red ant, only to later find the dash skill that would’ve made the fight so much easier 😭

I finished “Easy Delivery co” yesterday, and it was ok 👌. It has this really calm loop to it that I actually used to get ready for bed 😅
Only horror in game is existential.
But I think the gameplay loop was kind of fun and could be reused in other games

I've a Lemmy app on my phone on the go, but I did check Reddit on desktop every now and then

Is everyone else flooded with flappy bird games all of a sudden? I have never been more turned off from Reddit than I am by this. 😅
