the state of animal crossing singlehandedly makes me so worried about how tomodachi life is gonna get bungled in a similarly anticipated sequel to a beloved 3ds game. other nintendo games are guilty of post-launch update bs but animal crossing was personal.

THE FREAKIN. DREAM ISLAND CREATIVE MODE. this applies to other decoration modes like harvey’s house and HHP (the latter is where most of my playtime has gone to btw) but the fact that villagers can be placed like decoration mainly for photography purposes rlly fucking says it all doesn’t it???

yeah the new stuff is interesting and i’ll check it out but on principle i cannot celebrate its existence like some people are. let’s not forget that the game was barely finished at launch. giving nintendo credit for going back to finish it later is not compelling to me.

i’m not too active in fandom circles to make a definitive judgement but from what i’ve seen the overall reception is positive bc like. “nintendo is spoiling us!” “wow they remembered the game!” “at least it’s not switch 2 exclusive” like the bar is deep in hell isn’t it.

omg i dont think i aired my opinions here on the sudden animal crossing 3.0 announcement. i have so many thoughts. most of them r mixed. overall it’s bitter.

i like decorating, i like dollhouses. but holy shit if this ain’t confirmation that animal crossing is never going to be a social sim again
