A new contract at Brighton for Jack Hinshelwood, a homegrown success story.
He has spent 12 years at the club and he is only 20. #BHAFC

Can't stand them pricks from yesterday. Awful club, awful fans, awful football. And the refs and comms fall for it! Proud of our performance, very impressed with Oli, enjoyed Yankuba's energy, and I desperately want Georgi's confidence to come back. And Fabian? He told it like it fucking is. #BHAFC

What a game of football that was, eh? Astonishing first half, worrying second half, six-minute panic attack in stoppage time. Terrible but tolerable refereeing, dogged defensive work from all, loved free-roaming Jack, Milner my POTM, and oh how the soul did sing at the return of Solly March. #BHAFC

Inordinately pleased for Wolves there. Threw the game on at 93' to see if they'd manage, and did they ever. It's good to see Rob Edwards have reason to smile again, he seems great. And fair play to Wolves, they looked excellent in the bit that I saw, both solid and willing to attack. What an ending.

A Heart That Works Check out A Heart That Works -
New York Times Bestseller * New Yorker Best Books of 2022 * Entertainment Weekly Best Books of 2022 * USA Today...

My book A Heart That Works just became profitable (meaning it's made more $ than the advance I was paid, & most books don't!). I'm telling you this because I gave 100% of that advance to kids' hospices & now, again, when ppl buy it, I can give more $ to kids' hospices: bookshop.org/p/books/a-he...

Was genuinely thinking about this exact thing earlier today. I was reading a bit of a news article (UK-based) to my partner and I replaced the word Argentinian with Argentine (the sentence referred to one person). Argentinian didn't seem to fit at all, and I wondered why the author had used it.

Oh my giddy aunt, they only went and fucking done it, and up at that Brentford as well (enjoy the bonus, boys!). That was some genuinely delightful football to watch, the compliments far outweigh any complaints. And a huge congratulations to James Milner, we're very lucky to have him. UTFA #BHAFC

Woof, admin. What an image to use. I dunno. We certainly didn't deserve that. Had them struggling for good portions of the match, but the refereeing was dire and you'd think grown men wouldn't fall over as much as Villa did. Milner and Diego quite good and Harry looked at it. Heads up, boys. #BHAFC

I've spent a lot of time thinking about the match. And not even the match itself but everything Dunk said after. The refrain of 'the group'. The group isn't working hard enough, isn't doing enough for themselves or for the coach. I hate to think something is wrong, but there is. Oh lads. UTA. #BHAFC

Right, now I've calmed down a bit, some thoughts. Cursed fixture, expect nothing. Fine. But our passing was suddenly miles better, which is something. Yasin's goal? Unreal. That angle! Think Fabian fucked the subs, and that was the most devastating VAR call since Alexis at Leicester. Oh well. #BHAFC

Solly's got a lot of work to do, then. I told myself over and over to expect nothing and be grateful for it but fuck me, what happened there. The curse endures. #BHAFC

Some of the Brighton men in training, Solly March visible to the left. Five of the six players pictured are bundled up against the chill. But JoΓ«l Veltman, true to form, doesn't seem troubled by paltry human things like 'cold' and is wearing shorts. In Lancing. In January. Crumbs.

I don't expect much good will come from visiting that cursed football ground tomorrow, but the energy of seeing Solly March back in big boy training will carry me through no matter the result. #BHAFC

Well. Never a pen, shambolic officiating, glad to see Carlos and Yankuba back and at it, Oli's crosses are quite something, and surely that's the goal of the season from Babis. Good grief, young man. As regards the cheating diving timewasting pricks from down the road, I will say nothing. #BHAFC

Heart rate so high it was on the moon, but there we are. Well fucking done boys. Needed that for Gruda, wanted that for Danny, classy Pascal slotting in like he never left, Ferdi excellent again, Babis a monster on the rise, and Jason Steele my lord. UTFA. Now anyone but Macclesfield please. #BHAFC

Right. Thank goodness for that. Back four broadly excellent, so pleased for Georgi and Yasin (and congratulations to him), Babis deserves another start, our passing seemed crisper overall, and my word don't the stripes suit our Pascal. A good performance against a side that have haunted us. #BHAFC

Could not agree more, on every point. I saw people moaning about Chelsea's relative youth and how it leads to inconsistency and I was like, hello Brighton. I worry that a poor result this weekend could cause headloss that simply just isn't warranted. We are what we are right now. Pascal will help.

I mean, yeah it's going to be a strange transition, but I'm also thinking about all the things they might learn from him.

Over on that Twitter a Brighton fan has put together an 'all actions' video of Pascal's final game for Dortmund, and I have to say that I didn't mind it. The man's brain, his skill, they're still very much there. It will be a joy to welcome him home. #BHAFC

When you get the reputation of being the guy with the encouraging words on New Year's Eve, it can start to come through as a little pressure -- what if the situation on the ground is worse than usual? what if people are more scared than they usually are, and with cause? what use are good vibes then?

He must still be recovering from one of those 'small knocks' we pick up (and keep) so well. Any other reason would surely be insanity. I'm not HΓΌrzeler out or anything, but if it turns out he's playing Wieffer at right-back because he doesn't rate JoΓ«l, I may start to question things a bit.
