"I've been fascinated by you since the moment we met," Ashley responds softly, his fluffy hair brushing the underside of Lestat's chin. "Your personality, your voice, your face, your music, and to be this close to you is an honour. If giving blood is what it takes, I'll gladly donate."

"It can? Oh good, I was starting to think I might be a masochi—"

He cuts himself off, wondering if it's too late to pretend he doesn't know what one of those is.

"Though I've never liked pain before, so..."

"More than I expected," Ash responds shyly. "I thought being bitten might be like a blood test, but your bite feels..."

A cherry blush blossoms across his flustered face.

"I want to say nice? Is that too nondescript?"

He certainly wouldn't object to that.

May even encourage it.

Not wanting to spoil the moment, he stays quiet.

But if he were to speak, it would be to tell Lestat that of all the pain he's experienced in his life, this is by far the most enjoyable.

"You don't find it suspicious that the cage just let us out?" Ace queries, a feline tail unfurling from behind him and giving a few flicks. "I've gone full cat before and not been able to slip through those bars."

Ace moves to catch Barry with surprising speed, not inhuman, but he clearly cares about protecting the speedster — even if only from the floor.

"Whoa! Careful. You think we're good to go, or?"

"Thawne kinda... took me from my timeline long before he sent Ash to it..."

Ace toys with his necklace, sighing softly.

"That's how he knew that Ash would just 'replace' me. Because I wasn't there to begin with. It wouldn't have aroused suspicion, people go missing everyday."

Ace suddenly looks rather shifty, averting his gaze before lightly kicking at the floor.

"One or two... months..."

"Wouldn't what?" Ace asks quietly. "Stop us? Have you forgotten how crafty he was when he imprisoned you the first time?"

"He'd definitely lose against the gods I know," Ace responds with a tired smile. "Still, it'd be nice to see him taken down a peg. Or ten. Dragged into the Black and White. Pulled down to Drowsy Town. Flash, there's a lot you don't know about my timeline."

"He's probably gone looking for Richie. Those two were inseparable before all the Lords in Black stuff happened."

Ace idly trails a line of magic in the air, which shimmers before fading.

"I wonder how Thawne would fare against an actual god."

"Well it looks like he's succeeded, at least for now."

Ace gives Barry a look that's somewhere between dismay and panic.

"Fun fact: I don't WANT to stay here. The man's a maniac. How do I... y'know, leave?"

Ace pauses, a thoughtful look appearing, then reaches up and touches his neck.

"I don't think my choker was this heavy before, maybe he added something to it?"

"Cool, I was getting tired of being Thawne's prisoner," Ace responds with a grin. "Before I clip out of existence, is there anything I can do to help you with this situation?"

As someone who played Princess Peach: Showtime as a kid like it was an Olympic sport, I appreciate that. :3

She's one of my favourite characters, and I appreciate that in the film, she isn't just your typical damsel in distress, but she does have a softness I enjoy. ♥
