I love how harsh this last sentence is from this quote: His unruly life can remind you of something Clive James said about E.E. Cummings β€” that he β€œwas as hot against materialist society as only a poet living on a trust fund can be.”

My 3 year old son and his friends at daycare like to run around pointing at themselves and others and say "You're a Cheeto". It's to the point where when we are in stores he will just point at people and say it too. For about a day I thought he meant cheetah, but no, he means Cheeto.

Trump is rescinding road safety grants all over the country, in blue states and red ones.

The reason: those projects are "hostile" to cars.

40 issues of my Public Collectors project QUARANZINE from 2020 are on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago now until July 2026. That is 11 months. It just occurred to me: What will this country even be in 11 months? What will it be in 4 months? That feels like an eternity right now.

States rethink a long-held practice of setting speed limits based on how fast drivers travel Road safety activists and some states are pushing to depart from a longstanding rule that sets speed limits in the United States based largely on how fast drivers actually travel.

What's wild about the 85th percentile is that lots of US states use it to set all speed limits, but the original idea (from the 1930s) was to let observed driver speeds shape speed limits on **rural roads**.

It was never intended for urban areas w/pedestrians & cyclists!

I required this when I taught art students. Seeing the color corrected and approved images, as opposed to seeing the artwork online makes a huge difference.

so, in the course of a month, the New York Times reassigned four veteran critics, the Washington Post’s film critic took a buyout, Vanity Fair decided it doesn’t need a film critic at all, and the Associated Press got rid of book criticism altogether?

Cool.
