The story of Anne Askew from Lincolnshire who was burnt at the stake in July 1546 at Smithfield, London. Anne challenged the belief that when the priest blessed the bread at communion it physically became the body of Christ preaching this in public & privately. ๐

For years, this stone by Vale Royal Locks near Davenham made me curious. Well, its coat of arms is that of George Cholmondeley, Vice Admiral of Cheshire - the very man responsible for overseeing the construction of the river locks during the late 1700s.
