charlie kirk died for what he believed in. in a very literal sense: he believed in a world where gun deaths are inevitable and the solution to problems is violence. he excused his own death years before it happened. and if anyone else had been killed he'd already be weaponizing and relativizing it.

Most larger figures who had verification before Elon changed "Twitter Blue" have had free verification since, according to a few streamers I was watching at the time. Personally I think Twitter leaves them with it, so that people pay for verification to be like them.
