Thiem has lived with the danger of unexploded bombs his entire life in Cu Nam, Vietnam.
After a bomb buried in his field exploded – killing a relative & injuring him – farming meant fear for decades until MAG cleared his land: “Clean land feels like being able to breathe again.”
MAG remains fully committed to continue playing its part in helping Syrians live free from the fear of landmines and other unexploded items.

This incident is part of a wider pattern of deadly explosions across Syria in recent months, with people killed or injured while travelling, farming, or simply playing near unexploded devices, and serves as a reminder of the importance of clearance work.

A special discovery in Laos 🇱🇦
MAG teams recently uncovered a buried Buddha statue just metres from a local temple.
After safely excavating it, the statue was returned to the temple for proper care. Local monks came to bless both the sacred statue & the site where it was found.
Today marks 29 years since Diana, Princess of Wales walked through a minefield in Angola – a powerful reminder that the legacy of war lingers long after the fighting ends.
