The problem is...
When you don't defend your principles. When think it is too risky to stand by them when they are really needed...
They really aren't your principles after all. You are what you support.
So US Allies are supporters of US terrorism. That's what they support when it is convenient.
Back in the early days of Trump I, a Twitter account labeled "President Villain" took Trump quotes and put them on comic panels of the Red Skull

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Fuck Trump. Fuck the puppeteers behind him. Fuck the GOP, especially congressional Republicans and quisling Democrats, who enabled him. Fuck the people who voted for this, and fuck the media for never reporting on him realistically.
Fuck them all, for they have truly fucked us and the world.
Question for Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre.
What will you say when these attacks accomplish nothing at all, except the death of innocents?
Anything? Or is that when you will choose to say nothing?

I have never known a cat that likes to lie on his back like this so much. I guess he trusts us. Or he's just fat and doing this is comfortable for him on the heated floor...

I learned early on that, whatever media I tried to interest my oldest kids in, they'd run the other way. Finally tho', I've arrived in my true geek dad era, getting to watch the recent Demon Slayer anime movie with them! πΉ
(I'm not holding my breath on them coming 'round to my music tastes tho π)
I've a clear memory of "The Wind in the Willows" being the first "big" book that I read by myself when I was about 8. I read it again as an adult and had much the same reaction as Eleanor and Alasdair here - it's not written as a kids book, and I have no idea how I made it through the whole thing!
