The problem is...

When you don't defend your principles. When think it is too risky to stand by them when they are really needed...

They really aren't your principles after all. You are what you support.

So US Allies are supporters of US terrorism. That's what they support when it is convenient.

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Fuck Trump. Fuck the puppeteers behind him. Fuck the GOP, especially congressional Republicans and quisling Democrats, who enabled him. Fuck the people who voted for this, and fuck the media for never reporting on him realistically.

Fuck them all, for they have truly fucked us and the world.

What will you say when these attacks accomplish nothing at all, except the death of innocents?

Anything? Or is that when you will choose to say nothing?

Here's something I haven't listened to in years - Jerry Harrison's "Casual Gods". I'm not sure that I ever owned a physical copy before (I know I had the follow-up "Walk on Water" on cassette), but I'm realizing that I listened to this album A LOT. Good to have a copy of this again #NowPlaying

I'm not sure I've seen that shot before. That line up tho is more likely '75 (with original lead guitarist Wally Wilkinson, front 2nd-left). For '77, the BBC Sight & Sound concert is a must-see (with a very young Neil!) youtu.be/YLjgF0897Bw?...

Split Enz c.1977. The wrong look & the wrong music entirely for an assault on London in the high summer of Punk, but a fascinating band all the same. They of course came through. I saw them with Neil Finn onboard in 1980 & 1981 in sold-out theatres and they really were blisteringly good.

I've a clear memory of "The Wind in the Willows" being the first "big" book that I read by myself when I was about 8. I read it again as an adult and had much the same reaction as Eleanor and Alasdair here - it's not written as a kids book, and I have no idea how I made it through the whole thing!
