The only reason I can think of all the back to back eeveeloution releases is becuz it’s supposed to be “year of eevee” (don’t quote me too hard on that tho)

I don’t find them appealing, but I’ve seen people literally lock them onto their bags so that they don’t get snatched! It’s wild.
