This was pretty heavily inspired by Lucifer on Netflix, lol. There's just something about Keith only saying Lance's name when it's special or important that makes me weep pathetically

Keith confesses to everything; his feelings and his reasoning. And Lance relents to being OK with being called McClain, because Keith calling his name makes his heart skip a beat.

Just like the bonding moment, when Lance wakes up Keith denies and denies and denies. But Lance knows what he heard, and the others did too. Keith storms off, flustered, and Lance follows him.

Until one fateful mission. Lance, who was supposed to be long range support, finds himself surrounded by sentries.
And Keith calls his name, his real, first name. And then won't stop calling it as he fights his way to Lance, and while he urges Lance to stay awake before they get him to a pod.

Meanwhile Keith won't admit that the idea if calling him Lance has become too intimate to him. It's like admitting Lance broke down his walls and clawed his way into Keith's heart- it would feel like a love confession, because that's how he's started to feel.
So stubbornly, Lance remains "McClain"

Lance resolves to show Keith up and befriend the hell out of him like it's a contest.
When they reach new planets Lance hauls Keith away for team bonding, he tries to train with Keith, or competes with him. Every day he asks Keith if their friends yet, and Keith always rolls his eyes

What stings is the way he said it:
"I call Pidge and Hunk that because we're friends. And I don't think we're friends, McClain. So will you drop it?"

Not friends? They're paladins of Voltron together and have been for months? How could he think that?!

When asked, he has a range of excuses like not knowing Allura's last name, running out of breath trying to say Coran's. Keith was the original pilot for Pidge and Hunk's training team, so he knows them well enough to call by their first name.
But he doesn't know Lance enough, apparently.

I wouldn't say it's gone forever, iirc it's going to start hopping between peacock and netflix like the rest of dreamworks' catalogue? It'll be back eventually, but I didn't bother looking into it because we don't get peacock where I live

Why not upload it to YouTube like the entirety of Voltron Force?!?!?!?!?

Not to mention, moving it to peacock, which I think is what they're doing, actually makes it LESS accessible
So if their goal was introducing it to a new audience,,, only Americans have Peacock. I dont live in America, I can't watch vld at all now!

Why now? Why Voltron?! Like- Dragons; Race to the Edge has been on netflix a year longer and never hopped around streaming services like the rest of the httyd franchise has been.
I'm grateful it hasn't, but I'm just kind of shocked I guess.

I was pretty ambivalent to vld leaving netflix for the longest time. Like- I'm used to hearing about netflix's frustrating and anti-creative corporate decisions.

But opening Netflix and actually seeing it gone... My heart sunk.
