In a comic strip panel, person in a red shirt walks through a sunlit forest. The text says "Sometimes I go looking for a tiny part of the universe." "This part only takes up as much space as: half an apple, a salt shaker, or 2 ping pong balls." Each of these items is shown. Galaxies and stars swirl as the text says "But somehow, in an unfathomably huge universe," and then there's a complex mess of forest leaves, with one tiny Wilson's warbler in one corner, and the text says "this one tiny part". There's a close up of the warbler, blazing yellow against a sparkly yellow background, and the text says "can fill up my whole heart."

Another comic from this past year. Sometimes I'm in awe about how incredibly small birds can be.

This is Oakley. He has an injury that requires physical therapy and at-home massages. Luckily, his cat sibling River has been training his whole life for this. 14/10 for both

When I was a kid I learned that some rehabbers raised Chimney Swift babies by having them cling onto a vest (they usually cling to the inside of chimneys, the bats of birds). I wanted to be that person so bad

These swifts are safely warming up after their home was wrecked, and I love that so much.

They are the cutest! I've been lucky to see them get banded in Massachusetts.

One of my favorite varieties! They are still being grown at farms here in Massachusetts.

I saw one the other day hanging out on the patio with a couple of mourning doves. And I heard a white-throated sparrow singing while walking the local rail trail.

Yeah, my chickadees and titmice love to drink out of the ant moat also. I suppose the water might be cleaner and more protected than a ground water dish.
