Also not fun: shoveling two driveways and remembering you have a heart murmur.

Voted Bluesky’s Worst Follow, 2023-Present. I love you, Juan Carlos Bodoque. He/Him. I have too many books.

It seems a lot of the marketing for it is planted.
Things that sound whimsical, but are terrifying: your beard and mustache freeze to your face.

(No worries, I’ve made more than a few)
Thank you. I love that episode so much.
“These are my STREET clothes!”
(Again, I know more important stuff is happening)
This has been the busiest week in my crockpot’s time with me. We’re making soup, chili, roast, pork loin, you name it.
One final trudge through the snow. Still not quite done, but we’re sitting at 13.5” which a little more to go.
25.01.2026 22:25 — 👍 7 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The face 😂
“What are you getting THIS thing out for 🤨?”
I shall! The other “good” thing is this is very light, easily moved, snow. Last year had a snow/sleet combo that nearly sent me to the ER with an ankle injury.
The local station is playing Christmas music just to mess with us.
10 inches and growing.
I went inside and did a Lego set, I promise.
It’s still coming down in buckets and it supposed to continue until 7PM.
Not great, but I’ll take it over freezing rain.
Tomorrow will be a “day” because I’ll go help mom and dad shovel the driveway. 😅🥲. Gonna need hot coco.
Take a small break from the horrors and watch me huff and puff through 10 inches of snow (and growing!)

24.01.2026 15:15 — 👍 8 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I don’t talk about this much, but I do a little sports thing with a friend. Today, I talked about what the recent IU football season meant to me. Check it out if you’d like.

All seriousness, though- please be careful this weekend. Make sure you have charged appliances, dripping faucets, covered spigots, and anything that will keep you warm! It may be rough, it may not be as bad as predicted, but being prepared is better than not. Please. Be. Safe.

Oh, so things are really happening. #Snowmaggedon

I can’t believe IU actually won in football before basketball. But, I am so incredibly happy. Of course now I have to get a hat… or two
It’s usually in the place you last thought you had it, but in a weird spot there.
(Like the spatula I put in the breadbox once…)
If the Muppets can do A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island, I don’t see why we can’t have a Smurftastic Epic of Gilgamesh.
Friendly Smurf as Gilgamesh, Wild Smurf as Enkidu, and we’ll take care of the rest later.
Breaking an absence to say:
I met Marty Grabstein, the voice actor for Courage the Cowardly Dog, yesterday and he was a total peach. A very kind and genuine human. Even when things overall suck, there are decent humans in the world, in places where you wouldn’t normally consider.
The college sports transfer portal is so much fun because you can ignore the sports and just judge their decisions on face value.
Example(s):
Went from a Sun Devil to a Tiger. Seems like a downgrade.
Oh! From a Longhorn to a Commodore. Big upgrade.
From a Hokie to a Hoosier. Uh???
I know life is supposed to imitate art. But this may be a step too far.

Did they really do the Food Pyramid thing? Did they really rip off South Park? Cause it looks like they did…
I’m really ruminating on this. I know nothing I do is really going to fix the horrors all around us. There’s just no way. But, giving into total cynicism on a personal level would be total misery. I want to believe a small gesture does help others, even if it’s naïve. Naïve isn’t always terrible.
