That being said I totally hear you because I'm also "old" and there's a lot going on that the extra pressure of PvP makes it feel overwhelming at times

My solo experience so far has been pretty...solo, or at least, there's enough meta progression and story-telling outside the rounds you are playing through your XP and "found items" that it doesn't feel too bad when people kill you (the bot enemies are quite likely to kill you too)

Playing solo is pretty chill - just explore the map - if you die, it's okay, if you only brought your corp starter pack you can still make progress on certain contracts even if you didn't exfil.

There are a lot of little progression systems that make dying not punishing.

I've only played for a couple of hours:

- track your materials that you might need for specific upgrades, they'll light up in-game
- you can do a "resource run" and just try to get a few upgrade materials and then get out early
- dying really is chill when you're not bringing your best stuff

This will help no matter what! There's a lot of little things that bring depth to #Marathon.

I'm also enjoying that the base loadouts are helpful for newbies. You can practice on a certain shell with the free corp loadouts and just find loot and learn your shell.

The vibes are goooood around this. Though a few of the menus are a little unintuitive to start.

The gameplay plays pretty good - and I'm not afraid to lose my gear this early. Dying is chill. Game is fun!

One day we'll hopefully (if we dream it and fight for it) live with a system that has raised the tide of all boats regardless of where they started, who they are, and where they stand in our hierarchies.

Hopefully we can help each other out in any way we can, small or large, in the meantime.

None of this stuff is a substitute for deeper, systemic supports through things like Universal Basic Income, but in the meantime, they're some of the most effective (outside of direct cash payments) ways of helping people get enough food.

There are a lot of ways to support your community!
