It is a privilege to have the whiplash kind of weekend I am having. Friday night, wine tasting at a friend’s house. Saturday morning protest at the ICE detention center near my home. Saturday night Moth storytelling event in the city with my sister-in-law. Today getting flu and covid shots.

I drew letters on a big piece of cardboard, shaped wire using the letters I drew as a guide, and then wrapped the letters with clothesline. The supplies were maybe $20 from the hardware store. It took maybe 2 hours.

Fyi when he substitutes for kindergarten he gets like 15,000 steps during the school day. It’s insane!

He was a gym teacher last week and blew the younger kids’ minds by doing a hula hoop trick. Then he impressed the 5th graders by doing a slam dunk but told me he only had 1 dunk in him. 😂

Dave is substitute teaching in a kindergarten class today, which he loves doing. He told me this morning that he just thinks What Would Ned Flanders Do and starts the day with “Good morning, kindergartnerinos!”

Oh also one of my employees gave his notice this morning. I forgot about that.

Today I am doing my full time job, setting up a tv interview for tomorrow for the charity walk I’m co-organizing, taking care of a kid with a 101 degree temp, and texting my family about my dad being in the hospital and his emergency surgery. Also had time this morning to worry about fascism.

This happened at the high school PTA meeting I went to in May! I just stood there silently. It was so weird.

I only occasionally exchange texts with an old friend of mine in Mpls, but yesterday she posted 1st day of school photos of her kids at that school in Mpls, and I don’t know if her kids are ok today. It’s not my story but it’s all of our stories and I’m filled with hatred and sadness.

I reached out to a friend this morning who volunteers with a local group that supports immigrants to see if they can use the dresser, but they don’t need it. However, it sounds like they do need some other things I have so that’s great! Take my stuff!

I’m trying to give something to someone who claims to want it FOR FREE. Person 1 never responds. Person 2 doesn’t show up when they said they would. Person 3 confirms the listing is accurate than ghosts me. Person 4 doesn’t show up when they said they would. WTF
