My thoughts on Fox News Sunday after the first 24 hours of war with Iran: This is a war of choice. We all want a free and democratic Iran. But overthrowing authoritarian leaders with force has not historically led to democratic, pro-U.S. governments rising in their place.

I’m struck by how every day the admin is like “whoever could have foreseen these consequences?!” when the consequences thus far — evacuations, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, rise in gas prices, etc. — are all the literal most obvious consequences.

It does not make it a World War, but it does make even more clearly a war and a significant one--multiple domains (I hate that word), multiple regions, any Iranian military asset in the world is a target, apparently.

Of course, this raises the biq ? what is the strategy here? ....
