"Monstre: Vol.1" by Duncan Swan (no next volume nor even book that I can find by this writer). But perfect creature feature that if it actually happened, would have literally made it's way north into my backyard! Next probably either "Heart-Shaped Box" by Joe Hill or "Infected" by Scott Sigler.

Not yet. I just happened to stumble across this one while looking for something else. Truth be told, I'd never even heard of him before!
