Trump Screws Over Millions With Order on Student Loan Forgiveness Donald Trump just upended the loan repayment system.

Pieces and headlines like these are absurd.

His EO doesn't harm millions in #PSLF, probably won't hold.

Will likely affect borrowers' speech and behavior and some nonprofits recruitment.

The REAL issue is admin is unlikely to process anyone's forgiveness apps.

The Executive Order is, however, a threat. It's a threat against non-profits which support immigration rights. It's a threat against hospitals who provide reproductive or gender affirming care. It's also a threat against any organization seeking to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Members confirmed that loan servicers have stopped processing ANY applications to change income related plans. This includes PAYE and IBR which are outside the scope of the 8th Circuit's injunction.

They can’t take away PSLF retroactively. We took out loans and made career and life choices based on PSLF. If they tried, they’d be sued and would lose. I don’t think they’ll try. I found this video very helpful in these anxious times.

You can check to see if your application was submitted on the wrong form by going to studentaid.gov, "My Activity," Clicking on your open application, then clicking "Download Completed Application."

You'll get a PDF. On the top right of the front page, it will have the expiration date.

Get your forms DIRECTLY from your loan servicer, fill them out, sign them by hand, scan to a PDF, then submit directly to your servicer.

Anyone waiting for an #IDR form to be processed by your loan servicer: We just discovered that the "Apply for IDR" feature on the #FSA website generates an expired version of the form, and likely has caused multiple applications to fail.
