I know the UK government is trying to toe the line between Trumpβs good side and being closer to the EU. But when he makes us decide, I think we should prioritise the EU, Canada and Commonwealth countries if America continues to be unreliable and threatening.
There are no winners in a trade war
A Nazi owns one of the worlds largest social media platforms, this is beyond terrifying now.
Europe must once again unite against fascism
We are in a new era of great power politics, Europe must defend itself from Donald Trump, not only is he dangerous but he is also stupid and that lethal combo will be the undoing of all we know.

09.12.2024 19:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The fall of #Assad is incredible news for a region impacted by dictatorship for 54 years and Civil War for 13 years.
I hope the power vacuum taking place will give democratic rights to Syrians, freedom and finally some peace
The ball is truly in Labourβs court who at a UK level is blowing up the good will the public provided to them in July.
They must get their house in order or they will lose everything, in 2026 and 2029.
Keir Starmer may follow Biden in helping our politics but getting no electoral credit for it
Whilst this is exciting, and would be great for the SNP.
I think this is an outlier, so far 19/20 local elections the SNP vote share has been down, & at the GE the voter base didnβt turnout.
Could this be a revival? Perhaps
But donβt bet your house on it, itβs the beginning of the 2026 campaign
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.

Reform is fighting the establishment with a Β£100million donation from Elon Musk, growing the economy by privatising the NHS, and being led by a former investment banker millionaire who has a talk show on a platform backed by oligarchs.
For the people, buying the people
This is so true, but Bluesky must capitalise on this if it is to replace Twitter as the global town square
We all want this app to succeed, we need Bluesky to protect liberal democracy and tackle growing authoritarianism and illiberalism
I love Bluesky, it must become the town square for the UK and change our politics for the better
07.12.2024 14:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs a stain on all of us when problem gambling especially among children continues to rise.
Regulation must come in now, the industry has an endless pit of money and governments must step in to stop gambling harms
The way gambling has infected every part of modern life is truly a scandal.
You get gambling ads on YouTube, on the radio, emblazoned on every football strip, across stadiums, newspaper ads, on top tv shows, in the cinema...
Yet nothing is done to stop it, & problem gambling continues to grow
This bug going around is horrendous, Iβve been coughing my guts up all week, and it doesnβt seem to want to leave my body.
05.12.2024 15:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was just over a year ago the UK Parliament invited the South Korean President to give a speech in Westminster.
And now President Yoon Suk Yeol has declared martial law and the army is outside the South Korean parliament.
This is utterly unprecedented, and Iβm shocked watching the news
Mass protests in #Georgia
#Syria falling city by city with Assad cowering in Moscow
Russiaβs front line in #Ukraine faltering with record deaths reported in the meat grinder
Alongside a crashing Russian economy
It would seem Putin is losing his grip on power, and for that we all benefit
RIP Dr Janey Godley, you are an icon across Scotland and helped a whole nation get through the worst time in our recent history
May you rest in peace
The hatered spewed on Twitter is becoming too much.
The sheer level of hatred for a woman who died of ovarian cancer on the day of her funeral has made me sick.
And the worst part about it is the wee cowards who hide behind faceless and nameless profiles. Own up to your disgusting behaviour
The @channel4news.bsky.social discussion between a doctor and a reverend on assisted dying is so moving and so necessary. Well done to the production team for platforming these two individuals π
29.11.2024 19:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All of the UKs political class need to come over here, Iβm so tired of yanks and those not living here spreading their bile.
Elon musk suggesting a civil war took the cake for me. Heβs ruined the best site Iβve ever used (esp for politicos) and this app hopefully will pick up the pieces
And side note, I get MPs have religious reasons against this PMB, but please talk to the views of all your constituents not just the religion you identify with.
29.11.2024 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt think anyone can dismiss the emotional response and duty of care to this bill.
But I would urge for an evidence-led approach using other countries as examples, inclusion of all key groups in all stages, and to please dial down the rhetoric of state-sanctioned death and prescribed murder.
The public want Assisted Dying to be approved, which I agree with.
To respond to disability rights campaigners I would suggest amendments that remove disabled people from the bill, and increase spending in social care, housing availability, palliative care and enshrine the right to work from home
Labour want to appear tough on crime, but cracking down on mugging victims is cruel and callous.
This is mean spirited and shows the depth of gameplaying going on at the top of Labour
We've been saying this for a long time and still there's no hydrogen technology manufacturing of note in Scotland.. No electrolysers, no compressors and no storage tanks.

An 11 year old mistake, to now being sacked as the Transport Minister
This reeks of machiavellian manoeuvering by Labour bigwigs to dismantle left leaning/pro union MPs
I want to say I expected better from Keir Starmer, but he has surrounded himself with poor advisors, and worse powerbrokers
