The Australian government doesn't seem able to say the word "genocide". I'm wondering if they're capable of using the words "war crimes"?

Single panel editorial cartoon. FM Wong is facing a press conference struggling to gather and hold on to everything she is carrying and she says, “Look, for the last time, we’re not involved . . . just considering our options”. There is luggage labelled with travel stickers for Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, an inflatable baby trump, a suitcase full of money, papers that say, defence, trade, protection, secret, weapons industry, Darwin, RAAF Amberley (with a golden key), a bag labelled pine gap, a submarine under the arm labelled AUKUS, five eyes on stick and a surveillance dish.

Mainstream America: We are obsessed with Heated Rivalry and Drag Race. We love them and can't get enough.
American Democrat politicians: LGBT people are not culturally normal. We will not speak of them.
We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

I think it’s time to take our country back from politicians who do the bidding of powerful people in other countries, and have made us the servants of the US.
How do we go about firing Albanese, tearing up AUKUS and kicking every American servicemen out of the country and take the bases back?
this is a fucking wild week to be demanding australians show empathy for israel

i hate talking about “immigrant contributions to society”. it’s so greasy. migration is a human right. but it is not lost on me that Lebanese, Iranian, Palestinian Australians are so cool, so funny, so creative, giving so much every day, and so consistently betrayed by our LOSER politicians

He's wearing a green robe and suspenders with House Talis crest, the right hand is touching the face and the left one is rested, holding a champaign glass. It's cozy and comfortable in the room; it's lit by a lamp on a table beside the armchair, there is an ice bucket with a bottle and another glass on the table. Stars are visible in the night sky in a window behind Jayce's back.
Just Jayce. Content, hot, and a little tipsy. A gift for my friend ❤️

The Australian government is currently considering a request to provide military assistance to a Gulf nation, but it won't say which one. Gotta love government transparency, yeah?

Wondering how the big bulk of middle Australia voters are going to react to high petrol prices and big dents in their super fund balances, given they, and Labor, act mostly from narrow self interest

As at February 2026, there were 225 senators + members of parliament capable of voting against Compulsory Income Management.
Only 13 including @greens.org.au, @senatorthorpe.bsky.social + @andrewwilkiemp.bsky.social .
Everyone else voted for a #racism policy, or didn't vote.

Grievance politics is easy. Dignity is trickier – and, all too often, missing
Unlike traditional politics, which revolves around political parties, grievance politics relies on the power of personality #Auspol

Australia obsesses over "welfare dependency".
Meanwhile govt support for wealth includes:
Superannuation tax concessions $52B
Capital gains tax discount $11B
Negative gearing $5B
That's about $68 billion a year, mostly benefiting the richest Aussies.
That's the welfare worth talking about.
