I may not be stating my position well in the character limit. PowerShell is great for SysAd/Azure stuff. PowerShell is not very good at being a general purpose scripting language. We need something like that in the dotnet ecosystem.

I think you're replying to the wrong person. There were no questions o.O

PowerShell is about 1/3 of all code I write for work. But in the case of teaching people to code, I would never tell them about PowerShell. It's just not meant for that. If there's someone wanting to learn to script and they are an IT professional (helpdesk or sys ad), of course.

When talking with people interested in programming, how many are recommended PowerShell over Python or JavaScript?

I've built powerful GUI applications in PowerShell. I know it can do awesome things. I've been there! It's just not written for people wanting to learn to code. We need more async :)

PowerShell is a great tool for system admins. That's the problem - its simplicity wasn't focused with the general programmer in mind.

I started my programming career with scripting in pwsh. It was only a gateway drug to C#, where I could really use my imagination.

Why is there no python scripting language using dotnet? And if so, why is it not popular? PowerShell doesn't count. They know what they did wrong.
