We ended up collecting 4065 cans between February and December 2025, and we're eager to continue this work in 2026.

Donate directly to Pilsen Food Pantry or reach out today to find out how you can join our collection!

We were in Back of the Yards today, participating in a whistlemania event.

400 whistles were packed for distribution to various Chicagoland communities.

Have you had a chance to connect with others to help out our neighbors?

In an effort to get tamaleros in La Villita home as early in the day as possible, to avoid I.C.E. and CBP, we bought one out. We bought out three yesterday.

All tamales are being distributed to families in need.

We've begun putting together 34 warming kits for the unhoused.

When we're done, they'll have socks, hand warmers, gloves, and cash.

Please reach out if you'd like to contribute!

Another librarian-led donation, from a Park Ridge Public Library staff member, made to the Pilsen Food Pantry's aluminum can collection.

Every bit counts in helping alleviate food insecurity in the Chicago area!

We dropped off a little over 1100 crushed cans this afternoon at the Pilsen Food Pantry.

Cans were collected, between February and July, from library workers at Westmont, Waukegan, and Roselle Public libraries.

We're still collecting, so reach out to get information on how you can contribute!

With the depraved and hateful legislation the T*ump administration has been passing in his first 6 months in office, and the illegal and heinous kidnappings of immigrants and citizens they've made, it's important that we take care of us.

The first 272 took two months, while the remaining came in throughout April
