You guys, check out this close-up of nurse shark skin! They have a reputation for being kinda dull brown, but it's really a beautiful sandstone mosaic pattern, and they range pretty widely in color! (That's me on the right in a neon shark print bathing suit during a research workup).

This has been happening for years and instead of doing anything to protect children successive governments have made the situation worse. This isn't just on councils. It is part of failings on a State level.

I have fallen down a rabbit hole about “reef balls,” which are hollow concrete structures with holes in them, used for reef restoration. Fairly low tech*, look kinda like an upside-down orchid pot.

*apparently the concrete mix is somewhat high tech
