I bet it’s dearer to you than many of the thousands of songs you have heard since. It certainly is to me. I loved the romantic excess of the lyrics, β€˜But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye’
combined with its unfamiliar beat (to someone from Surrey)

Here’s one I clipped:

On the short drive between John Ruskin St off the Walworth Road and Brixton Hill I heard Paul Gambaccini play Concrete + Clay and Purple Haze, two of my all time favourites.
Old man Sunday night heaven.

I’m ashamed to say that over the course of a year I cut and pasted the funniest/most deranged comments from the one that covers us here.

Join Nextdoor, an app for neighborhoods where you can get local tips, buy and sell items, and more Nextdoor is the neighborhood hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information, goods, and services.

Why does seemingly every post on NextDoor begin β€˜Absolutely disgusting...’ It lacks a live and let live algorithm.

St. Richard’s? I had an operation on my ankle there when I was 11. As I was being wheeled into the operating theatre a nurse lent down and quoted, β€œwelcome to my parlour said the spider to the fly.” High on the pre-anaesthetic, I thought it was hilarious. Don’t suppose they’d do that now.

Do try and find I Am Cuba, The Siberian Mammoth (2004)- a Brazilian documentary about the making of the film. It’s full of fascinating detail about the ropes and pulleys and film stock, but also the excitement of the Soviet crew at being in Cuba πŸ‘ŠπŸ½πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΉπŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ί

A friend of mine showed David Jones a photograph of the chapel at Capel-Y-Ffin. Jones examined it closely before exclaiming, β€œI painted that tabernacle - and a f***ing good tabernacle it is too.”
