In 2019, 25-year-old Robin Manansala collapsed and had a seizure on a basketball court in San Jose. He was rushed to a hospital, where an MRI revealed an oligodendroglioma.

In 2022, Tomoya Ogura, an Oakland-based software engineer, started having pain on the left side of his face. Imaging found a brain tumor pressing on his trigeminal nerve.
