This is about half of my monthly La Crosse County Board pay, turned into food. The other half? Already donated in the form of food for some of the little free pantries around La Crosse.
As food insecurity grows, even small efforts matter.

Proud to support the Hillview Health Care Center transformation on the county boardโnew housing, senior care, crisis stabilization, and intergenerational care. While we invest locally, itโs a shame to see federal cuts stripping support from so many. Higher levels of government MUST do better.

Cuts would devastate care for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities.

Local government is making positive change, even when the state and federal government arenโt.
On the county board, I voted to allocate $2 million towards building a โLife and Workforce Readiness Center,โ a project led by an area nonprofit to help youth find their passions and develop life skills!
I drove to Kaukauna last month to speak to legislators about the need for:
๐ง Expanded mental and behavioral health services
๐ฉต Resources to ensure vulnerable folks are cared for
๐๏ธ Efforts to promote affordable housing

Public service is under attack right now.
Thatโs why I funded a scholarship at our local tech college to support and recognize future public servants. One young, working elected official canโt fix everythingโbut Iโll always stand up for the folks who serve our communities.
It was an eight hour wait, but I was glad to speak to Wisconsinโs Joint Finance Committee in Wausau about my constituentsโ priorities for the state budget:
๐๏ธ Housing and resources to support unsheltered folks,
๐งFunds for PFAS testing and remediation, and
๐An education system that works for EVERYONE
Iโm proud to stand with my colleaguesโand millions of Americansโcalling out attempts to cut Medicaid funding.
One county canโt require the federal government to keep Medicaid funding stable, but we need to raise our voices and ensure Congress knows where our community stands on this.
