Hitch Guide Find the perfect hitch for your bike with our comprehensive hitch guide. Learn about compatibility, installation, and more.

If your bike has bolt on rear wheel (likely) go down the rabbit hole of trailer compatibility wherever you can. Burley has a good guide here for their products burley.com/pages/hitch-...

Shew sure used to be used as parking, red paint aside. Fun fact I got to watch a car driver be stymied by a setup like this on James Robertson & 5th by the auditorium (they were using the empty parking spaces to try & get by the stopped vehicles at a light).

Nashville bicycling experience of the day: nearly getting hit by this speeding driver minutes after dropping off my 4-year-old while trying to navigate around a sidewalk and bikeway closure with no active permit and no safe detour.

This is why you don't block bike lanes.

when he's worked up in a big tizzy like this, trying to be an informed american citizen with an awareness of the geopolitical landscape is just an effort to digitally concuss yourself

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says β€” Streetsblog USA Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikesΒ and people in cars and on foot, a new studyΒ of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

This was my thought too. "This crash occurred at an intersection with an unmarked crosswalk. Drivers are required to yield at all crosswalks, marked or unmarked" would have MUCH better phrasing.

Every time this story gets posted I'm going to remind everybody that wage theft takes more money than all other property crime every year in the US

When bike lanes are not enough: The role of connected low-stress cycling infrastructure on cycle commuting in urban Aotearoa New Zealand Promoting bicycling is a shared aspiration among cities internationally in pursuit of sustainable urban development. However, while cities are increas…

STUDY: We found that while the majority of the roads in these cities are low stress, they are poorly connected, and the greater provision of low-stress cycling infrastructure is associated with more people cycling to work.”

No surprise, but evidence confirming the obvious is valuable. #UrbanTruth

We had a party: nothing happened when the first countdown finished so we counted down again. We had beer on ice in the washing machine and a back porch full of revellers. Glorious.

A lot of problems in this country could be solved simply by enforcing anti-monopoly laws

I often wonder about reactions from people who just dine out on their memories from a while back but didn't actively still go to these places. Not referring to this place but sometimes longevity != greatness!

This is what should happen if you honk at a pedestrian in a crosswalk or creep forward while they're crossing

I often like to say it's a limit not a goal. The full stop is clutch, too. There's a church parking lot at the stop intersection near me that tends to get cut-thru drivers trying to beat the driver at the stop sign. Sometimes it works - & then they roll into the school zone lol

Trump's Racism Carries No Consequencesβ€”And That's Scary Opinion: Trump’s attacks on the Obamas reveal what happens when open bigotry no longer disqualifies a presidentβ€”and how that shift could endanger civil-rights protections.

Once open racism carries no real penalty, the law reorganizes itself around that reality.

That’s what is happening.

Updates on East Bank Boulevard from the EBDA meeting yesterday:

- AECOM is restarting design work this spring
- The scope has been reduced to the Jefferson to KVB segment only
- Number of lanes will be determined in sections based on traffic operations
- Next public meeting planned for the summer

What is a "non-active" travel lane? Is that where we all pause & wish we lived in a better city?

This is something your can raise with BPAC, your council member, & transportation cmte for Metro Council (presumed you are in Davidson County). Would be curious if this is a broader pattern

My "Norman Rockwell Guy Standing Up" take is that this kind of bike lane does more harm than good.

There's a separated, high-level sidewalk right next to this giant road with no pedestrians! Widen it by one foot and make it a mixed use path!

If anything it's the fault of a minority of registered voters in TN deciding how the state can collect & distribute taxes so instead we're left with property taxation (that still has to balance out!) on top of wildly increased property values (not necessarily wrong tho!)

it’s fun when contractors make lovely little traffic control plans and file permits for a lane closure and explicitly state that southbound traffic will remain open but then violate the permit and close the whole street
