Nashville bicycling experience of the day: nearly getting hit by this speeding driver minutes after dropping off my 4-year-old while trying to navigate around a sidewalk and bikeway closure with no active permit and no safe detour.

This was my thought too. "This crash occurred at an intersection with an unmarked crosswalk. Drivers are required to yield at all crosswalks, marked or unmarked" would have MUCH better phrasing.

Updates on East Bank Boulevard from the EBDA meeting yesterday:

- AECOM is restarting design work this spring
- The scope has been reduced to the Jefferson to KVB segment only
- Number of lanes will be determined in sections based on traffic operations
- Next public meeting planned for the summer

What is a "non-active" travel lane? Is that where we all pause & wish we lived in a better city?

This is something your can raise with BPAC, your council member, & transportation cmte for Metro Council (presumed you are in Davidson County). Would be curious if this is a broader pattern

My "Norman Rockwell Guy Standing Up" take is that this kind of bike lane does more harm than good.

There's a separated, high-level sidewalk right next to this giant road with no pedestrians! Widen it by one foot and make it a mixed use path!

If anything it's the fault of a minority of registered voters in TN deciding how the state can collect & distribute taxes so instead we're left with property taxation (that still has to balance out!) on top of wildly increased property values (not necessarily wrong tho!)
