The meeting explored where priorities aligned and how they could strengthen their collective impact, particularly ahead of the National Cancer Plan.

Yesterday, the APPG on Less Survivable Cancers convened a joint meeting with other cancer APPGs.

Only 16% of people diagnosed with some of the less survivable cancers survive beyond 5 years. The #RareCancersBill is a unique opportunity to tackle this and more. We are pleased to have supported this Bill throughout its journey and will continue to do so as it progresses.

As mentioned by Gregory Stafford MP, only 16% people diagnosed with some of the less survivable cancers survive beyond 5 years, in comparison to over 55% for more common cancers. The #RareCancersBill is a unique opportunity to improve survival rates.

We thank the Prime Minister for sharing his personal story of supporting his brother through stage four lung cancer. Sharing stories like this helps break the silence and fuels the urgency for action to change the outcomes for people with less survivable cancers.

The Taskforce supports the Rare Cancers Bill. The Bill reaches its 3rd reading in Parliament tomorrow, Friday 12 July and we need at least 40 MPs in Westminster to ensure it progresses.
👉 We are calling on all MPs to attend and support the Bill.

As the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce, we warmly welcome the government's commitment to deliver neighbourhood health services in the most deprived areas of the country, where life expectancy is lowest, and where people often face the greatest barriers to care. #10YearPlan
