I go out regularly with a Bowser backpack and little dinosaur satchel. People always get super happy and excited when they see me. I think most people love when they see others living authentically as themselves.

Addendum to my rant in your replies. Knew a guy that got shot outside of a gay bar in my home province of Nova Scotia. He's white and cis. And he will never walk again because of homophobia. He still goes out everyday to support trans youth and queer liberation. He would fucking hate this guy.

To see a gay author eagerly joining the Leopards Eating Our Faces club is disheartening. But I don't think guys like Appel is any better of a representation of typical gay men than Ben Shapiro is of Jews. Homophobia is, after all, still alive and well. But fuck Ben Appel in particular. (4/4)

I have gay family members that have died due to AIDs related illnesses. Not to mention if you step out of progressive cities and spaces you'll be given the harsh reminder that we are all fags in the eyes of the state. There is no freedom or revolution to be had by taking this route. (3/4)
