I am focused on the Stand Up for Science events today, but I will dig into these data early next week.

I was continuously funded from when I started my independent career in 1988 until I move to NIH in 2003, usually with multiple grants.

This weekend, on March 7, @standupforscience.bsky.social is leading protests in 25 locations.

Scientists had warned about the replacement of evidence over ideology and the damage it would cause. Everything that I was worried about came true.

When someone says β€žScientists do not want you to knowβ€œ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

Better for who? Funeral homes? Certainly not families and definitely not the kids who are sick and at risk of death. And it isn’t just respiratory disease. I’ve admitted kids with rhabdomyolysis (many) and acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis (thankfully just once several years ago).
