Deputy Sir Philip Bailhache is proposing to amend the Minister for Social Security's Proposition so the that States Assembly sets the maximum level of compensation awarded in employment-related discrimination claims.

A group of law students from Compass Jersey came on a tour of the States Chamber. 🏛️

Victoria College Prep Year 5 students visited the States Assembly Chamber today to debate: 'Mobile phones should be banned for all children under the age of 16'.

• Key performance indicators will be monitored and details published regularly for transparency.
• Dynamic pricing for passengers is standard and a flat rate is not possible due to levels of demand.
• A properly redacted version of the agreement may be published but no date given.

• A proposal to adopt Liberation Day as Jersey’s National Day.
• A law change that would define small watercraft used for leisure activities as ships.

Petitions with 5,000+ signatures may be considered for debate by the States Assembly, which may lead to a change in the law.

The Minister for Children and Families, Connétable Richard Vibert brought some guests from @medwaycouncil.bsky.social Children's Services, on one of our States Assembly tours.

They learned how Jersey's Parliament works as well as hearing about the traditions and history of our unique system.

A new Review Panel will explore the relationship between the parishes and the Government of Jersey.

It will examine how the Government engages with regards to delivering services and implementing key strategies.
