Just thinkin' about Earthbound! How I used to own it but don't anymore, tried to get everyone around me to play it to no avail. No one cared in the 2010's but then certain famous reviewers go off on the whole thing including the climax. Why play it? Just watch a famous review.

What makes one person's playthrough and commentary any more valuable than the dudes scoring 1M views on a video cracking jokes and making voices? Why compete? Why not do something better? I can't figure out what that is because I want this, but it's something that others have and not me.

It makes me sad to enjoy a certain very popular, current game. I want to play it in Japanese (or try to) and talk about it, but then, without even looking it up, I see thousands upon thousands of views of others talking about 'ranking your theories about it'. I can't deal with contributing to this.

I feel like going off about shigeru miyamoto, but it also feels like it'd be cringy and no one would care. Plus, there's decades of video essays (which I'd be referencing if I talked more about it probably) so it's difficult to feel there's a meaningful purpose to even expressing these thoughts.

Then again, what non-business stuff would be fun to draw? I wanted to open up into canon material. I've realized there's no way I can ever get the original creators to ever care, so how could it ever come across as defensive? It's called 'being derivative' and I suppose it just...Happens.

If I were to stream or do something else on stream other than games (or drawing--that's for business only these days), what would be fun?

I was thinking about testing out streaming on youtube later today, and I really wanted to try out Caves of Qud and learn to play it some more. I'm aiming for about 2 and 1/2 hours from now at www.youtube.com/@jarrccb. We'll see if it works later.
