"Not easy" is sort of the defining characteristic of coordination problems :)

05.10.2025 20:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Agreed, it's probably more of a downward spiral situation.
05.10.2025 20:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Strange, my experience was the exact opposite, it was the smart kids who were excluded and laughed at throughout school. The hostility seems to me just a continuation of a pattern that started young.

03.10.2025 03:15 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1I want to solve problems in the world, but many issues seem intractable because they require coordination, like pins in a lock.
Understanding coordination is necessary for issues like climate change and inequality.
'Unlocking Solutions' deals with coordination problems and how to solve them.
A beautiful soul.
01.10.2025 19:20 โ ๐ 68 ๐ 12 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 2Can you provide a clue or a limitation? It seems like there are lots of rules you could use to mark these as different groups, like the little white or black dots could determine the group, but that doesnโt seem like it has the requisite level of complexity to qualify.
01.10.2025 19:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes, wouldnโt it be wonderful if we just planned our society so that the objective was enjoyment. Thanks!
01.10.2025 19:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I must read it, I received it secondhand via Rutger Bregman, would be great to read it straight from the source.
01.10.2025 19:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I care about poverty, mainly alleviating it..
When I discovered this one piece of research it changed my whole approach to understanding poverty.
"Why People in Poverty make Poor Decisions" explores this research which points to a simple solution. Listen or read at:

Thanks, it has been a confirmation for me of the value of regular output :) I'm very happy to have you on board!

Or โthe greedyโ as thatโs the one common trait among them all.
28.09.2025 23:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thatโs why I support Gary advocating for greater communication. Thatโs where I see the left lackingโthereโs an unwillingness to either stand up for our values or, if we do, to do it in โenemy territoryโ rather than within friendly echo chambers. (I appreciate the irony of saying this on Bluesky).
28.09.2025 23:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Fukuyama is echoing a centrist anti-identity politics trend (Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson) that sounded well founded, but ultimately played into the hands of right wing populists (by shifting those in the centre to the right via dismissiveness of โwokeโ ideology). We need to communicate not dismiss.
28.09.2025 23:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Kamalaโs not left? Now whoโs making divisions? (Even within the left). I donโt have a problem with the variety of viewpoints on the left, there is a place for identity politics to undo the historical baggage of a past defined by identity.
28.09.2025 23:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Have you read Rutger Bregman? His 'Humankind' in particular disabused me of many such false beliefs.

28.09.2025 18:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hey, just thought I'd get back in touch. As expected the events of a couple of weeks ago have only served to exacerbate divisions, but I'm still happy to chat. Follow up on that post on that site :)

28.09.2025 18:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ha, I actually use a Flight of the Conchords quote in nonzerosum.games/globalisatio...
28.09.2025 18:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ha, that seems like a more a symbolic gesture than a practical one (since the chances of a particular random person interacting with you in the future is like .0000001%), but I see the appeal.
I don't find much vitriol here though, and where there's disagreement it's usually a troll bot..
Thanks so much, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Nice to meet you :)
28.09.2025 18:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's worth noting where you are hearing about the left focusing on identity. During the US election, I'm pretty sure I heard Kamala mention trans-rights about zero times (focusing rather on jobs and tax relief) while right wing media talked non-stop about trans-rights (negatively obviously).
28.09.2025 18:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0While equity is important, equality (while imperfect) is the only real measure of equity. If demographics have vastly different outcomes (on important metrics that people universally value: wealth, health, safety), it's likely that society has missed something, when it comes to providing equity.
