I think I see what you're saying.. that a prior assumption something is definitely true or false precludes other possibilities in the same way as a singular goal precludes bayesian calculus and so will end up being leveraged overconfidently / uncritically?

GOODHART'S LAW Goodhart's Law illustrates how measures can become unreliable targets, leading to unintended consequences, much like moths drawn to harmful lights.

Goodhart's Law is one of those ideas, once you learn it, you find it everywhere.
