Logical qubits encoded in the fusion space of non-Abelian anyons in a generalized surface code.

Not the most efficient way to build a quantum computer, but definitely the coolest!

Quantinuum and co show how it's done on one of their H2 devices.

Hanwen Yao and Mert GΓΆkduman developed tools for the classical codes and decoders and Arianna Meinking worked on decoders. Classical codes can be combined into different quantum codes: Hypergraph Product Codes, Quasicyclic Lifted Product Codes, or the Balanced Product Cyclic codes.

Mingyu Kang ( @mingyukang.bsky.social ) and Yingjia Lin co-led the project to build a tool that takes as input the parameters of classical codes and a quantum decoding strategy and outputs quantum codes and circuit-level logical performance.
