When you have an audience or a business you have to ensure that you always provide a lot more value to people than you extract from them. If you don't then, long term, it all breaks down.

I don't want to see Ai slop anywhere, but especially not in craft feeds. Impossible crochet in impossible rooms that look like the Sears catalog circa 1986.

But in all likelihood, it will. Because this is capitalism and the current commodity, especially on platforms like this, is our attention.

In early Instagram and Facebook days, those platforms were more like this one. What keeps BlueSky from devolving into short form ad-driven AI slop? I really am very curious.

If you feel powerless, you really should channel that energy into community strengthening and support. It can be as simple as searching "(your city)+mutual aid". Start there. The most valuable thing you can give is your time, volunteer for a reputable org and make a difference where you can.

My first attempt on knitwear, but I've lots of embroidery practice, so that have me a leg up.

It’s the perfect day to find a secluded cottage in the Scottish Highlands and go off the grid for a few years.

Two years ago I knit this beautiful, and very basic, hat. When I got the Embroidery on Knits book for my birthday, I needed something simple to play with, and that hat was the perfect blank canvas. The flowers are a delightful addition and my first real foray into knitwear embroidery.

I really believe that I should have to opt in to AI. I hate having it forced down my throat.
